Ni how,

May be you know someone who can help us with a really cool project? Do you have a passionate or amusing experience you’d like to share? Then read on.....

I am working with a department in Dutch public broadcasting (NPO) on a pilot project to test out a concept. The aim is to build a Mandarin language web platform that will interest Chinese students thinking about travelling in Europe and perhaps studying here. We know of existing sites, but this project will make much more use of video from active bloggers, as well as existing programmes that have been broadcast by broadcasters in Europe. The site focuses on lifestyle and offers honest advice and practical tips to people in China.

So, I am looking for 3 Mandarin speaking students between the ages of 18 to 25, who live in the Randstad metropolitan area of The Netherlands. (i.e. Amsterdam, Utrecht, The Hague, Rotterdam, Leiden). You must have a passionate story to tell about life here (perhaps what’s different about studying here, or what it is that attracted you to study in Europe, funny or unexpected things you encountered here). I will make a video interview with you on location – from past experience we know it will take a couple of hours.

You must be available to do this in the first week of January 2010. You need to be able to speak Mandarin and either English or Dutch. The final video will be about 3 minutes long and the ones used for the pilot project will appear on the test website. If your video is selected, you will get a copy of the final result on a USB stick. We are offering a small financial reward to cover your expenses and time to help us out.

Do you have an interesting story to share with us or know someone who has? Feel free to forward this email to friends. Please e-mail me immediately at: tessmail@gmail.com with your name, contact info (e-mail, phone, street address, etc.) and your story suggestion so I can get in touch with you!

Please note that the closing date for applications is December 23rd 2009. Those selected will hear from us by December 27th 2009.

Looking forward to hearing your story,
Tess Löwenhardt
