The Dutch Audiovisual Antropology Foundation (Savan) hosts a discussion evening on antropological topics and media every month, called Cineblend. On December 2nd 2009 the evening was organised by the Chinese Political Integration and Participation Fund (CPIPF) in cooperation with Blue Water Dragon Foundation. The topic was inspired by the graduation thesis on identity issues of second generation Dutch Chinese by antropologist Lilly Witte.

The Miss China Europe finals were held in The Hague on December 14th 2009. Dutch Simwayn Tran (陳心慰) was the winner of the competition. Sheng Yong Cheng followed Simwayn Tran in the week leading up to the finals.
